A courtyard house organized around a single olive tree.
The house turns inward. Rooms gather around a gravel court and one mature olive, so the day is measured in shade rather than view. Board-formed concrete holds the heat; timber eaves keep the glass cool. We wanted a house that would feel finished on the first afternoon, and better twenty years later.
